Find Relief from
Jaw Pain & Tension.

If you wake up with a sore jaw, tension headaches, or worn teeth, you are not alone. Bruxism affects around 1 in 10 people, and many suffer for years without knowing there is an effective solution. At The Bruxism Clinic, Dr. Baldeep Farmah offers a gentle, proven Botox treatment that gets to the root of the problem, not just the symptoms.

Could You Have Bruxism?

Bruxism is the unconscious clenching or grinding of teeth, most often during sleep.

It can cause real, lasting damage if left untreated, but the good news is that it is highly treatable.

Not sure if this sounds like you? Take our short quiz to find out.

Common Signs of Bruxism Include:

Jaw pain or tightness in the morning

Frequent headaches or facial pain

Worn, cracked or sensitive teeth

Clicking or popping in the jaw

Disrupted sleep or restlessness at night

Ear discomfort or tinnitus

A Treatment That Actually Works.

Traditional mouth guards can help protect your teeth, but they do not stop the grinding itself.

Botox for bruxism works differently. When carefully injected into the masseter muscle (the main muscle responsible for jaw clenching), it gently reduces the force of that muscle, stopping the grinding at its source.

The procedure is quick, comfortable and performed right here in our Birmingham clinic. Most patients notice a real difference within a few weeks, including less tension, fewer headaches and a noticeably better night’s sleep.

Lasting Relief in Three Simple Steps.

What to expect when you step into our Birmingham Clinic:

Consultation

Dr. Farmah will take the time to understand your symptoms, answer your questions and confirm that Botox treatment is right for you. There is no pressure and no rush.

Treatment

The procedure takes around 15 to 20 minutes. Using an ultra-fine needle, three small, precise injections are placed into the masseter muscle. It is designed to be comfortable, and it will not affect your smile or facial expressions.

Results

Most patients begin to feel relief within days. The full effect typically develops over two to three weeks, and results generally last several months.

Your Questions About Bruxism Answered.

Below you’ll find some of our most commonly asked questions about Bruxism. Still unsure? Just get in touch and we’ll be on hand to put your mind at ease, and take the first step towards a pain-free life!

Is Botox for bruxism safe?

Yes. Botulinum toxin has been used safely in medical and therapeutic settings for decades. In the UK, it is classified as a prescription-only medicine (POM) regulated by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), which means it can only be legally prescribed and administered under strict clinical conditions. At The Bruxism Clinic, all treatment is overseen by Dr. Farmah, a GMC registered doctor, ensuring you receive care that meets the highest regulatory standards.

What is the MHRA and why does it matter?

The MHRA is the UK government body responsible for ensuring that medicines and medical devices meet acceptable standards of safety, quality and effectiveness. Licensed botulinum toxin products undergo rigorous testing and quality controls to ensure they contain the correct active ingredient at safe concentrations.

Choosing a regulated clinic like ours means the product used in your treatment is fully licensed and traceable. If you are ever offered botulinum toxin without a medical consultation, in an informal setting, or at a price significantly below usual rates, treat that as a warning sign.

Your safety depends on who is treating you and what they are using.

Who is legally allowed to administer this treatment in the UK?

Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine under UK law, meaning it can only be sold, supplied or administered in accordance with a prescription issued by an authorised prescriber. Authorised prescribers include GMC registered doctors, GDC registered dentists, and nurse or pharmacist independent prescribers.

Dr. Farmah is a fully GMC registered doctor, so when you are treated at The Bruxism Clinic, you are in the hands of a qualified prescriber who is personally responsible for your care from consultation through to treatment.

Is Bruxism for Botox available on the NHS?

Botox for teeth grinding is not offered by the NHS. The NHS considers bruxism Botox to be a form of cosmetic Botox and does not cover it, even though the treatment is not for aesthetic purposes.

The NHS approach to bruxism typically focuses on mouth guards or splints, alongside advice on stress management and lifestyle changes.

These can be helpful for protecting teeth, but they do not address the underlying muscle activity that causes the grinding. Botox treatment at The Bruxism Clinic is available privately, with no referral needed.

Do I need a GP referral to book?

No referral is needed. You can book your consultation directly through our website or by calling us. Dr. Farmah will carry out a full assessment at your consultation to confirm that treatment is appropriate for you before anything is agreed.

Will it change how my face looks?

No. The injections are placed precisely into the masseter muscle and are designed specifically to reduce the force of jaw clenching, not to alter your appearance.

The procedure will not affect your smile, your facial expressions, or your ability to chew and speak normally.

Does Bruxism Botox treatment hurt?

Most patients find the procedure very comfortable. An ultra-fine needle is used and the whole process takes around 15 to 20 minutes. Any minor discomfort at the injection site is short-lived.

There is no downtime and you can return to normal activities straight away.

How quickly will I see results?

Most patients begin to notice a reduction in jaw tension and pain within a few days of treatment.

The full effect typically develops over two to three weeks as the muscle gradually relaxes. Many patients also report fewer headaches and a noticeably better quality of sleep within this timeframe.

Are there any side effects I should know about?

Serious side effects are uncommon when the treatment is performed by a qualified medical professional using a licensed product. Minor effects such as slight bruising or tenderness at the injection site can occasionally occur but are short-lived.

Dr Farmah will walk you through any relevant risks during your consultation so you can make a fully informed decision.
